RE: Current state of pthread implementation?

Well yes, xfree binaries and libraries compile with pthread. No problem.
Server works no problem. xterma nd all clients work - problem. BUT twm and
any other windows manager (such as vtwm and xfce) crashes with pthread
support. I did not get time to debug it and crack the cuase of problems. I
suspect it is SHAPE extension , but not 100 sure.

Subject: Current state of pthread implementation?

HI there,

after doing a reading-only job in this list due to lack of time I'm now
sorta restarting with Harold's Test 21. Pretty late, eh?
Suhaib, in this p-thread (pun intended) you told something here that you
succeeded in compiling in _basic_ pthread support. Is this true, does
this
mean the 4.0.3 binaries are _at least a little_ thread-safe now?
I'd appreciate that very much because I've got several applications I
couldn't build yet because of lack of pthread support in cygwin. Please
don't call this 'whining', of course I know I'm supposed to wait until
someone has the time to improve this because I don't have a clue of
pthreads
programming, mutex and all this stuff. But I don't give up the hope.
In case the current binaries are _not_ thread-safe, I'll have to build
XFree
from source, which I don't anticipate so much because it takes loads of
time
...

Could you please give me some recent infos?

Thanks,
Andreas
