How about install xfree86-4.0-devel.tar.bz2.
I know Harold does not recommend it in his HOW-TO, but
on some systems it is needed. Beside rgb.txt files should be
inusr/X11R6/lib/X11
after you install xfree86-4.0-devel.tar.bz2. By Default, Xfree86 needs
every
package and only stuff you can skip is clients (programs), therefore it is
always
a good idea to install xfree86-4.0-devel.tar.bz2.
