I am not a DirectX expert... Peter did most of the DirectX coding...
Is not Back creation refers to one of the surfaces?

Try the XWin-Win9x-Me.tar.bz2, and replace the xwin.exe in /usr/X11R6/bin
with the one in the archive. It would not work on Win9x/Me, but might
work better for Win2K/NT
