  Basically you'll see lots of fork failures and other random executables just
not working at all and generally exiting silently.  When this problem is
occurring your whole cygwin world starts falling apart; you don't need a test,
you'll *know* it's all gone wrong.

  NAV does seem to have been somewhat better behaved recently than in the
past.  These problems often come and go semi-randomly as the AV updates
itself.  Alas we don't really have any info as to which versions are good and
which bad.  The biggest problems tend to occur when antispyware, behaviour
blocking or buffer-overflow prevention features come into play.
