That isn't redundant and has nothing to do with the stuff in peflags_do,
although I don't remember exactly what the problem was that was resolved
by this. The current toolchain should be clean, though, so it may best
be an optional step.

I've implemented it for debugging indeed, although I wouldn't mind
making it an official option.

It's the only one for now and perpetual scripts must be coordinated
among all packages, but if it helps you sleep betterâ :-)
I've just implemented the extra options and replaced the package files.
