This chunk should have been placed in a separate patch. One of the first patches that added the canadian build option added this piece of code, which is incorrect. I think I made the mistake myself by copy/pasting some canadian specific code from the final gcc step to the core build step When building the core_cc compiler there is no need for building libiberty, (and before the changes to build a canadian baremetal compiler, this code would never be called).
