Hi Everybody, This is a bug in the glibc-2.3.2 runtime library , i faced this while compiling TI 's OMAP 5912 toolchain with 2.6.8 kernel and gcc-3.3.2 so if you compile busybox and try the ping with a hostname you get a segment fault but if you put the address in dot decmal format it works fine .... This problem is repeated in all applications i compiled with this toolchain and runtime libraries including rlogin .. rshd rcp ..etc anything that uses gethostbyname() is affected ..... If anybody has a patch for this please inform me ... otherwise i took a unconventional approach and compiled another toolchain with gcc-3.3.6 and glibc-2.3.5 , in this toolchain the problem seems to be solved. Hope this helps people compiling the 2.3.2 based toolchain ... Regards Deepak -- Hack Hack Hack -- For unsubscribe information see http://sourceware.org/lists.html#faq
