I have tried the following combinations on a cygwin machine (win2k, cygwin dll 1.5.10-3):

* demo-ppc405.sh with gcc-3.4.0/glibc-2.3.2 : everything compiles perfectly

* demo-i686.sh with gcc-3.3.2/glibc-2.3.2 : everything compiles perfectly

Good, thanks...

* demo-i686.sh with gcc-3.4.0/glibc-2.3.2 : the script fails when building the final gcc with the following error:

This seems to be a problem with gcc-3.4.0; see http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2004-06/msg00361.html I ran into this in April, but didn't have time to check it out back then.

Guess I should file a bug report.
