Looks like this is a bug that slipped in when binutils switched to the newer autoconf. Try downgrading to binutils-2.14.90.0.5, maybe. See http://sources.redhat.com/ml/binutils/2003-08/msg00419.html for an explanation and possible fix if you can't downgrade.

It tries the longer name first.  It's ok, I think.
