Following the same feedback from  the same gurus, I have
built a gcc-3.3.1/binutils-2.14/uClibc-0.9.20, and our
kernels and applications seem to be still fairly happy. We
have been using it for about a week so far without reasons
to suspect the compiler, but still have to go through proper
full stress-testing.
