cross compiling under cygwin

hi all,

i am trying to build a cross compiler chain for powerpc-linux under cygwin.
i am using the following sources :

- binutils-2.11.2
- gcc-2.95.3
- glibc-2.2.3
- linux-2.4.18

binutils and first stage gcc get built fine, but i am unfortunately
encountering problems when linking glibc.

could anybody please give me advice on how to install the headers, startup
files and libraries correctly before starting the build process ?
