In my mind you are talking about: http://sources.redhat.com/ml/crossgcc/2001-q2/msg00401.html which stands about gcc-2.9x and binutils-2.11. As I'm trying to build gcc-3.0, I have used binutils-2.11. Anyway, I tryied to build gcc-3.0 again using binutils-2.10.1, and I get exactly the same result!!! The error is "strange", because most of the stdc++ library is compiled with "-mrelacatable" flag on, and I get the error only compiling the file ".../libsupc++/new_op.cc" ... (in fact, the error is in the assembler, not in the compiler...) Someone desires to give another suggestion??? I'm thinking in post the original message into gcc-help list...
