Re: Trying to make powerpc crosscompiler

On Fri, May 05, 2000 at 08:03:13AM -0700, Ian Lance Taylor scribbled:
| From: Joris Baijens <J.J.M.Baijens@ik.nu>

|
| build and installed binutils-2.9.1 with options --target=powerpc-*-elf --target=/home/jorisb
|
| Don't use the character `*' in a configuration triplet. That is used
| in shell scripts for matching, but it should not be part of the actual
| name. Configure for powerpc-elf or powerpc-eabi.

Joris:

We have had success with powerpc-eabi on FreeBSD-4.0-i386.
It would be great if we could do a powerpc-elf crosscompiler on i386/Alpha.
David O'Brien is updating binutils soon. (last I heard)

Have you considered posting/subscribing to <FreeBSD-PPC@freebsd.org>

Please tell us of your progress.
