cross-tools with glibc

I've built a few toolchains for cross compilation with linux as a host
and target using glibc. Every time I've had to go through a slightly
iterative process to get glibc and gcc both compiled. I know building
cross tools with newlib is relatively painless. Has anybody worked out a
nice cross tool integrated build using glibc?
