Not an objection, but I think a world where symbols use the locale's
encoding is subject to all kinds of truly crazy scenarios.
Maybe we're in that world already, I don't really know. gdb studiously
avoids the issue.
If we're not in that world, then let's please not enter it.
I agree. I have changed my patch so that it does not try to do anything
clever. It just uses printf() to display the symbol names, and it does
not try to do anything special with locale's. Printf should handle
multibyte characters all on its own, provided that the user has their
environment set up correctly. The patch does not try to set up any
special environments of its own.
