I asked around here about the difference between COMMON and ANSI_COMMON
and the answer I got was that ANSI_COMMON symbols have a higher
precedence then weak symbol definitions and regular COMMON symbols have
a lower precedence then weak definitions. So far that is the only
difference I am aware of.
