That depends on how many tests need modifying.  In any case it's
not H.J.'s duty to fix this problem, but mine I guess since I okayed
the nm change.  I happen to think it quite reasonable to set LC_ALL in
the makefile.  If you're in the habit of running standalone tests,
you'll soon get into the habit of setting one more environment var as
well.  :)
