The 2001-03-15 cvs version says:
*** This configuration is not supported in the following subdirectories:
gprof ld
...when I do a "./configure --prefix=/gnut --enable-shared"
Does this mean GNU ld can not yet produce shared libraries on AIX433, or is it refering to an ld component library that I wouldn't care about during normal use?

The CVS binutils should work just fine with AIX 4.3.3 now, including
ld.
