I agree with the philosophy about testsuites, but in this case the
testsuite in really testing gcc as well as ld. Perhaps a better test
would be to start from a .s file.
True, if possible.
Until this is done, or some other fix is found, may I apply my fix to the
main branch?
I would prefer not, unless gcc has garbage collection tests in its own
testsuite. If gcc has garbage collection tests, then the binutils
tests are less interesting. If gcc does not, then I think we should
keep the binutils tests.
