This no big deal but I have noticed that configure doesn't set LDFLAGS
in the Makefile's for binutils. Usually, when I build I like to configure
with LDFLAGS=-s. Is there a reason why LDFLAGS shouldn't be set by configure?
I don't think there is any reason that configure should not set
LDFLAGS. I'm not certainly precisely what you are proposing; can you
send a patch?
